For women, rated by real people

Am I pretty? Ask real people, not a quiz

"Am I pretty?" is hard to answer from a mirror, a selfie or an online quiz. On RATE real people rate a photo of you from 1 to 10, anonymously and with no comments, and you see how men and women rate you separately.

Am I pretty? Why the mirror and your selfies can't tell you

You look at your own face more than anyone else does, and almost always in the worst conditions: first thing in the morning, under a bathroom bulb, searching for things to fix. Nobody who meets you looks at you like that. The mirror also shows you flipped, so a normal photo of you looks slightly wrong to you and completely normal to everyone else.

Selfies don't help much either. You take twenty, delete nineteen and judge yourself by the one you kept, or by the worst one. A front camera held close makes your nose bigger and your face narrower than it is. Then you compare the result with a feed of filtered, edited faces.

An "am I pretty" quiz has the same problem from the other side: it only knows what you type in about yourself. The honest answer comes from people who don't know you, see one real photo, and have no reason to be either nice or mean.

What "pretty" actually depends on

Pretty isn't a fixed property of a face. It's a reaction, and reactions differ. Some of what people react to is you: your eyes, your smile, your features. A surprising amount is the photo: the light, the angle, the expression, your hair that day. The same woman can score very differently in two pictures taken an hour apart.

That's why one number from one person tells you almost nothing, and why RATE shows you more than an average. Your results break down by the raters' age group, gender, country and cultural background. One age group or country may love a photo another finds ordinary. That doesn't make you more or less pretty. It tells you who your look lands with.

How men and women rate you differently

Men and women often notice different things in the same photo. Women tend to read the whole picture: the hair, the outfit, the makeup. Men more often react to the face and the expression first. Neither view is more correct, so RATE keeps them apart instead of blending them into one number.

Your main score counts the people you choose to match with. If you match with men, your score is what men think of the photo. Gender is also one of the breakdowns, so you can see how women rated the same post. If you're only here to learn, choose "Match me with: No one": everyone can still rate you, and no match or chat can open from a rating.

Is it safe? No comments, no random messages

Most places that let strangers rate your photo come with a comment section, and that's where it gets ugly. RATE has no comments at all. Someone taps a number from 1 to 10 and moves on. There are no likes and no names attached to the scores, so nobody can single you out.

Nobody can message you out of nowhere. A private chat opens in two cases only: when you and someone rate each other 8 or higher (a mutual match), or when you follow each other. A man who rated you a 10 can't write to you unless you rated him 8 or higher as well.

  • "Match me with: No one" turns matching off completely. You rate and get rated, and no chat can ever open from a rating.
  • RATE is for adults 18 and over, and every photo is checked before it goes live: a real person's face, no nudity, no screenshots, no AI images.

A photo that looks like you: simple tips

You want a score for the real you, not for a lucky frame or a bad one. A few things matter more than any makeup product:

  • Window light. Face a window in daytime. Soft light from the front evens out skin and shows your eyes; a ceiling light puts shadows under them.
  • Eye-level camera. Phone at eye height or a touch above, at least an arm's length away, or ask someone to take it from a couple of meters.
  • A natural expression. A small real smile or a relaxed face. Think about something that actually makes you happy instead of posing.
  • No face filters or smoothing. A score for an edited face is a score for someone else.
  • One photo per post. A post can hold up to 4 photos, but people rate them together as one, so post one clear photo on its own.

A score is about one photo, never about your worth

Whatever number comes back, read it for what it is: how a group of people reacted to one picture of you on one day. It is not a grade for you. If a photo scores lower than you hoped, the most likely culprit is the photo, and the fix is a better one.

The useful part is comparing your own posts with each other and reading the breakdowns: which light, which expression and which audience work for you. Use RATE to learn, then close the app and go live your life. Pretty is one small piece of how people experience you.

How RATE works

  1. Post up to 4 photosClear, recent photos of you. Every photo is checked before it goes live.
  2. Real people rate them 1 to 10Anonymously. No names, no likes, no comments. Just an honest number.
  3. See your score and who rates you highestYour average, plus breakdowns by age group, gender and country. Rate each other 8+ and it is a match.

Questions

Is there an accurate "am I pretty" test?

Quizzes score your own answers, and AI scanners measure a face nobody reacted to. The closest thing to an accurate test is many real people rating one clear photo of you, which is what RATE does.

Will people comment on my photo?

No. RATE has no comments and no likes. People rate your post with a number from 1 to 10, anonymously, and that's all they can do.

Can a guy message me after rating my photo?

Only if you rated him 8 or higher too. A private chat opens on a mutual 8+ match or when you follow each other. "Match me with: No one" switches matching off entirely.

How pretty am I on a scale of 1 to 10?

Your score is the average of many people's ratings of one post, shown once enough people have rated. Read it with the breakdowns: who rated you higher, which photo did better.

Can I keep my results private?

Yes. With a private account only followers you approve see your profile and results. Your posts still appear in the feed and get rated.
